Unheard Sound Series proudly presents a special evening of immersive multimedia performance featuring ambient-electronic legend LOSCIL (Scott Morgan - Vancouver, BC).
With LOSCIL, Morgan explores the marriage of electronic production and acoustic instrumentation to create “stark landscapes that are evocative, earthly, anything but abstract, and so much more than merely ‘ambient’” (The Quietus, UK). Morgan has predominantly released music through Portland’s Kranky label, beginning with 2001’s Triple Point and continuing through to his latest album, 2016’s Monument Builders.
LOSCIL is joined by local modular synthesist Chad Munson with partner Ghost House (Lindsey Rewuski), providing live analog visuals. Their collaborative performances are marked by an organic ebb and flow of synesthetic experience. Local ambient-electronic artist Ursa (Lenore Maier) rounds out the evening with a synth based performance of heady drones and hypnagogic beats.
This event is the first in a new series of live experimental sound programs made possible through a community partnership between the Unheard Sound Series and the Broadway Theatre. Stay tuned for more unheard sounds from this initiative in the coming months.
