"Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown"

Produced by

Saskatoon Shakespeare Lab

Directed by

Skye Brandon

Venue

U of S, John Mitchell Building

Shakespeare's two-part play recounting the reign of England's Henry IV brings together comedy, politics, and family drama, to explore the realities of leadership, responsibility, and wielding power.

Part II

King Henry's health is failing, but will Hal be a worthy heir? Falstaff is sent to the countryside to recruit fresh troops, where he gleefully indulges in the business of lining his own pockets, all while the King's health becomes worse. In Shakespeare's heart-breaking conclusion to his epic plays, Hal must choose between duty and loyalty to an old friend.
