SUMMARY:The Fourth Wise Man
DESCRIPTION:Produced by \nDancing Sky Theatre\na Dancing Sky Theatre Collective\nDirected by \nAngus Ferguson\n  \n“I do not know where this little story came from--out of the air\, perhaps. One thing is certain\, it is not written in any other book\, nor is it to be found among the ancient lore of the East. And yet I have never felt as if it were my own. It was a gift\, and it seemed to me as if I knew the Giver." —Henry Van Dyke \n  \nThis holiday season\, Dancing Sky Theatre is re-visiting one of our very first collective creations THE FOURTH WISEMAN\, which is inspired by an 1895 novella by Henry Van Dyke. Many of us are familiar with the visit of the ‘three wise men’ as part of the Christmas story\, and with the famous gifts that they brought. But what if there was a fourth wise man? One who started out on the journey but missed the nativity by three days and\, as a result\, spent the rest of his life searching for the promised King? \nIn this production\, Dancing Sky Theatre explores what happens when things don’t go as planned\, when we lose our way\, and struggle through hardship and delays. This little story reminds us that despite setbacks\, perhaps even because of them\, we may be closer to our goals than we think. We have actually travelled further than we realize. \nWhen we first explored this story 16 years ago\, Cam Fuller of the Star Phoenix noted that it “looks through the meaning of Christmas and into the meaning of love.” It is a deceptively simple story that lets us reflect on the values that we all grapple with at this time of year. \n  \nDancing Sky Theatre is located in the village of Meacham\, SK – just a 40 minute drive east of Saskatoon. Harvest Hall houses the intimate theatre and diningroom where you are able to enjoy a three course\, home cooked meal before performances Friday thru Sunday. For more on Dancing Sky visit their website at dancingskytheatre.com. \nReserve tickets for the show only\, or the show and meal. \n  \nIn the Diningroom:\nDancing Sky Theatre offers you a fully licenced diningroom and tables that seat up to 8 people. Enjoy full table service of a 3 course meal created especially for each show by our Chef Ernie Kurz. \nBe sure to bring cash or a credit card as we DO NOT have debit services.\nReservations are required for the diningroom. \nYou must alert us to vegetarian or allergy concerns when you make reservations. As much as we would like to\, we are not able to make last minute substitutions. (You will be asked for this information near the end of your on-line payment.)\n  \n  \nTicket Information\nPerformances are Thursday\, Friday and Saturday evenings. And matinees on Saturdays and Sundays. (no Sat matinee Dec 7)\nThe diningroom serves before shows Fridays through Sundays. \nTicket and meal reservations can be made online. \n\nAnyone in your party under 18 yrs? Call to reserve a discounted show ticket.\nGathering a group to attend the show? Discounts available.  10% discounts on show tickets for groups of 10.\n\nBox Office (in Saskatoon) 306-653-5191. \nTickets will not be mailed.  Just bring the emailed confirmation with you to Dancing Sky Theatre when you come to the show.\nNOTE: when you order tickets online\, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not get an email (within the hour)\, please contact the box office. Your reservation might not have processed properly.  Thank you.\n\nReturn Ticket Policy - We are unable to refund tickets but we will make exchanges when possible.  As all our food is prepared fresh\, we are only able to make exchanges for meals with 48 hours notice.
