SUMMARY:The Winter's Tale
DESCRIPTION:8:00pm\nProduced by \nYXE Shakespeare Lab\nDirected by \nSkye Brandon\nA Staged Reading as a benefit for the AFC\n  \nYXE Shakespeare Lab presents Shakespeare's late play\, The Winter's Tale\, as a staged reading. All proceeds will be going to the AFC (formerly the Actors' Fund of Canada). \nThe Winter's Tale is one of Shakespeare's beloved "romance plays\," mixing comedy\, tragedy\, and elements similar to that found in fairy tales. The story is thrown into motion when Leontes\, the king of Sicilia\, comes to believe that his wife\, Hermione\, has been unfaithful. Is it possible for what is lost to be found again? \nThe reading will feature Johanna Arnott\, James Avramenko\, Pyper Brandon\, Skye Brandon\, Sam Fairweather\, Kristi Friday\, Kate Herriot\, Cheryl Jack\, Kenn McLeod\, Gordon Portman\, Danielle Spilchen\, Bob Wicks\, and Cole Winterhalt. Stage Managed by Jalisa Gonie. \n  \nSaskatoon Shakespeare Lab is committed to giving theatre artists the chance to explore the plays of Shakespeare\, to bring Shakespeare to students\, and to produce the lesser known works of Shakespeare. \n  \nAbout the Actors' Fund of Canada (AFC)\nThe AFC is the lifeline for Canada’s entertainment industry. Through compassionate and confidential support\, they help Canadian entertainment professionals maintain their health\, dignity and ability to work. The AFC is an expression of the community’s good will\, helping entertainment professionals when they are at their most vulnerable due to injury\, illness or other personal hardship. \n  \nTicket Information\nPay by DONATION in advance on-line\, or at-the-door \nSuggested amount $10 to $20 \nAdvance tickets available on-line or by calling our box office at 306-653-5191.
