Johannes Moser has earned a reputation for being one of the world’s greatest cellists.

Hailed by Gramophone Magazine as “one of the finest among the astonishing gallery of young virtuoso cellists,” German-Canadian cellist Johannes Moser is a dedicated recitalist and chamber musician who regularly plays at renowned festivals throughout the world. He has also performed with the world’s leading orchestras and works regularly with conductors of the highest caliber. Moser is gaining increasing renown for his efforts to expand the reach of the classical genre and is committed to reaching out to young audiences. He recently won his 3rd ECHO Klassik award as Instrumentalist of the Year 2017 for his Russian Recital disk on the label PENTATONE, for whom he records exclusively. Moser was the top prize winner at the 2002 Tchaikovsky Competition and a recipient of the prestigious 2014 Brahms prize.

In demand all over the world, Moser is the son of Saskatchewan musical royality. Moser’s mother is Saskatchewan-born soprano Edith Wiens.
