La Viole Theatre Company
Directed by Lautaro Reyes
Guided by his mothers and his lovers, a young man searches for meaning in the multi-leveled Alameda Lane in a futuristic Santiago. As society has advanced, human connection has been relegated to the night. Half the population is jumping from buildings and everyone agrees — they have seen a truth we have yet to see.
Written by Cristián Soto, this play originally premiered in Chile, has been well received across Europe, and was recently translated into English by Curtis Russel with Bruce Gibbons Fell.
This will be the premier performance of La Vióle Theatre Company (name inspired by Violeta Parra). The company is composed of director Lautaro Reyes of Chile, and 5 performers with diverse backgrounds in drama and dance. Using a philosophy of collaboration, they seek to explore the human mind in all its colour and possibility.
