Free Flow Dance Theatre

Silhouette by Free Flow Dance Theatre is an evening of captivating contemporary dance, showcasing new works by renowned choreographer Jackie Latendresse, alongside guest artists Monique Martin, Meghann Michalsky, and Alex Hartshorn. The performance features a dynamic blend of solo pieces, a duet, and a group work, performed by professional dance artists. Special guest, Saskatchewan Poet Laureate Peace Akintade, will add a poetic dimension to the evening.

The work

Primordial, a mesmerizing piece where the dancer navigates a large parachute dress, evoking themes of origin and the raw forces of nature.

Blue is inspired by Picasso's Blue Period and current events in the east, expressing deep emotional resonance through movement.

Stutter offers a physically demanding exploration of how we can become our own biggest obstacle to progress, pushing the limits of endurance and self-reflection.

Self Portrait of an Artist is a unique collaboration with visual artist Monique Martin, featuring her human seismic machine, translating the dancer's movements into visual art.

Invince(vis)able is a powerful new work combining movement and spoken word, created in collaboration with Poet Laureate Peace Akintade, that delves into themes of visibility, strength, and resilience.

In addition, special guests Alex Hartshorn and Meghann Michalsky present a new contemporary duet while the group work Senses by Latendresse draws inspiration from the various ways we perceive the world through our senses, touching on the phenomenon of synesthesia.

Celebrating Free Flow's 29th anniversary, Silhouette promises to be an unforgettable and moving experience. Don't miss this one-day-only event at the Refinery Theatre on October 5th, with shows at 2 PM and 8 PM.
