Mary escapes the Great Irish Famine in 1847, Sofia flees war-torn Germany in 1947 and Dara bolts from Afghan Taliban rule in 2007. Canada is their new home, but relocation carries with it the struggles and pains of adapting to unfamiliar customs. Through sensuous movement, text and music, Displaced interweaves the stories of these three immigrant women.

"Displaced" is thrilled to have been accepted to appear at the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival between January 26-28, 2018. This hometown performance will send them off on their adventure and help with the company's travel costs.

Ground Cover Theatre’s mandate is to create original work through the medium of physical storytelling. We focus on current issues of debate because groundbreaking theatre is dependent upon stories that provoke questions and lead if not to new, then at least to deeper insights.
